The holidays are almost upon us, I hate to be Debbie Downer and bring up a distasteful subject but the last election was not good for us in the labor movement. If the numbers are right the republicans have enough votes to override a governor veto next session. Which means right to work is a very real possibilty unless we can get some public support. It doesn't matter who you voted for or for what reason you did so. You have to get everyone you know to write and call their state representative and senator. We don't have the monetary resources to compete with ALEC and the Koch brothers. The only way we can compete is by contacting the politicans personally and letting them know right to work is wrong for Missouri. Don't let 100 years of struggle go down the drain and lower your standard of living by continuing to stick your head in the sand. We have to get proactive on this subject. Take the time to stand up for your hard earned rights. Big business is expecting a return on their investment in all of those newly elected officials. If right to work gets voted into law just think how much money will be taken out of your pockets and put into theirs. I don't want to tell my kids I can't send them to college or give them a good start in life and you don't to want to tell yours that either.
